It is time to have some fun
Woodhall Farm Youth Club has been running for over three years which have been filled with many different activities. There have been holiday schemes, karaoke evenings, cooking and baking days and games of pool. The Youth Club is managed by WorldShapers on behalf of Woodhall Farm Multi-Agency Partnership. The club has been seeing between 20 and 40 young people on a weekly basis.
The Youth Club, for 8 – 14 year olds, is open two days a week at Woodhall Farm Community Centre from 4 – 5.30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The club will both offer typical youth club activities, but there will also be special workshop days with African drumming, dancing, sports, fitness, arts and crafts, etc.
The young people will also be encouraged to suggest special programmes for the holiday times.
Children between the ages 9 – 13 will be able to obtain the Young Leaders Award accredited by Sports Leaders UK if interested. The award gives children the opportunity to learn basic leadership skills like giving instructions, organising people and equipment and using space effectively. All the training is based on learning by doing, and they will learn a range of games and activities.
We are very grateful to the Woodhall Farm Multi-Agency Partnership for their continued support of the project. The Youth Club has really taken off as our relationships with Holtsmere Junior School and Brockswood School have developed further. This partnership has been crucial in seeing the club develop and many more children become involved.
